Munckhof Business Travel becomes front runner in NDC
Munckhof Business Travel becomes the front runner in the Netherlands in offering NDC content for business travel. That was the central message last Monday evening at a specially organized event in Tiel. The entire staff of all Munckhof Business Travel locations in the Netherlands had traveled to be present at this official kick-off. Delegations of airline company KLM and technology partner Amadeus were also present to witness this special moment.
NDC is here to stay
New Distribution Capabilities is the name for new technology used to distribute travel content from airlines through travel agents to clients. “For a number of years, industry players have been investing heavily in this new technology,” said Tom Roefs, CEO of Munckhof Group. “The time has now come for our travel division to fully embrace this innovation. With this, we want to become a leader among Dutch TMCs in providing NDC offerings for corporate customers.”
“NDC is the biggest technological innovation in airline distribution since the advent of Internet booking sites. By making NDC content available, we can serve our clients with lower ticket prices and additional services.”
Amadeus NDC-X as a technology platform
“In 2019, Munckhof Business Travel was the first TMC in the Benelux to partner with Amadeus on NDC content through the Amadeus NDC-X program,” said Kurt Van der Biesen, Commercial Director Amadeus Benelux. “The fact that Munckhof once again wants to be the first in the Netherlands by bringing the technology integrally to the market is something we applaud wholeheartedly. A great result of an already many years of constructive cooperation.”
KLM and NDC
