Icelandair expands on North America

Icelandair, Iceland´s national airline, is significantly expanding frequency on existing routes to North America. Flights to Boston will operate 3x daily and to New York (JFK) 2-3x daily. Icelandair will also fly 2x daily to Washington D.C., Chicago, Seattle and Toronto, and daily to Newark, Baltimore, Minneapolis and Denver. Last Summer Raleigh-Durham was added to the network, and this Summer Detroit joins as the 15th destination in North America.

Icelandair flies to Reykjavik from Amsterdam and Brussels, amongst others. After an easy, short transfer, on average 1.5 hours, you can travel onwards to 15 destinations in North America, including Boston, New York, Washington, Detroit, Chicago, Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland and Toronto. A Stopover in Iceland of up to 7 days en route to/from the destination in North America is also possible.

Transferring at Keflavik Airport in Iceland is quick and easy. Walking distances are short; there is just one terminal. After the flight from Amsterdam or Brussels, you arrive on the second floor. With an European passport, you can use the automated passport control gates. Then you only need to take the escalator down and that is where the flights to North America depart.

For the business traveler, Icelandair offers two types of fares: Economy Flex and Saga Premium Flex; flexible fares which can be changed or cancelled free of charge prior to departure.

Economy Flex includes one 10kg piece of carry-on baggage and one 23kg piece of checked baggage. Seat selection is free of charge, seats with more legroom can be booked for a fee. Personal in-flight entertainment and non-alcoholic beverages are included. There is a wide choice of meals which can be ordered via the website up to 24 hours prior to departure.

Saga Premium Flex includes two 10kg pieces of carry-on baggage and two 32kg pieces of checked baggage. The seats are extra wide and have plenty of legroom. Personal in-flight entertainment, Wi-Fi, gourmet meals and all (alcoholic) beverages are included. Business Class check-in, Fastlane at Security and Lounge access is also included.

Icelandair participates in Privium; Privium Plus members flying with Icelandair can use the Business Class check-in, Fastlane at Security and Privium Lounge when departing from Schiphol Airport.
