Advance Passenger Information (API) mandatory when booking new journeys to and from London

From 1 April 2024, it will be mandatory to provide Advance Passenger Information (API) when booking new journeys to and from London, in line with recent UK government requirements. Changes to existing bookings via the Eurostar website before this date will also be subject to the obligation to provide the additional passenger information.

What does Advance Passenger Information (API) mean? This is a crucial part of the UK government’s border control measures for travellers entering or leaving the UK. In case you book or have booked a trip to or from London through us, you will receive a ticket after booking. This ticket contains a link and booking reference. You will then need this information to enter additional details. You can do this on the website, in the “Manage your booking” option. When all details are complete, you will receive access to your own ticket.

When booking your trip, the following details are required for each person on the booking, as stated in the travel document:

  • First and last name
  • Date of birth
  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • Type of travel document (in the Netherlands the passport is required)
  • Travel document number
  • Country of issue of travel document
  • Expiry date of travel document
